An Emergency Planning Specialist, Rob led the development of the Health and Emergency Planning course here at the Emergency Planning College. Using experience gained in the fire service, Rob is in high demand from organisations wanting to overcome problems faced by planners and responders, as well as delving into how disasters can affect communities.
Having started his career in the fire service, Rob worked his way through to executive level, it was here that he honed his civil contingency skills. After leaving the service, Rob went on to work for the Emergency Planning College as Course Director, a role that he held for more than eight years. In this time he worked to develop and manage the Diploma in Health Emergency Planning, a course that has been so successful that it is still available today. Since leaving the EPC Rob has worked as a Consultant in Civil Contingencies and has returned as an Associate.
For Rob the opportunity to share knowledge with delegates is an important aspect of his career. Having spent his working life in planning for, and responding to emergencies, he is well placed to share his in-depth knowledge of the problems faced by planners and responders, including how disasters can affect communities.
Rob is married with three children and spends his spare time taking photographs, with a particular interest in nature.
