The EPC Information Centre (Library) is the primary information source for emergency planning professionals throughout the country. Although a comparatively small library, the collection is continually expanding to stay abreast of the latest legislation, guidance, experience and thinking, and by virtue of its close relationship to the UK emergency planning community, it is unique in its content. It has a large collection of case study material (Disaster Reports) relating to particular disasters and crises, including inquiry reports, investigatory reports from government agencies, reports from the emergency services and commentary from other sources.

As well as documentary resources, the Information Centre also houses a collection of DVDs, which can be viewed on any of the computers within the Information Centre's computer hub. These are primarily TV documentary material recorded under licence, and are often utilised as part of the training courses. The Information Centre computer provides access to the internet, and the Information Centre also has free WiFi access and printing/photocopying facilities.

For anyone wishing to spend a day at the College doing research, the Information Centre offers study facilities and access to books and reports covering the full range of subject areas that emergency planning touches.

EPC's Online Database

The Information Centre’s on-line database provides a full list of the Information Centre’s contents. Records can be selected and printed or downloaded. In some cases the catalogue record will simply constitute a bibliographic description of the item, but in many cases a URL is provided so that the user can gain immediate access to the document.
