2005 Kashmir Earthquake
A magnitude 7.6 earthquake hit areas in and around Pakistan-administered Kashmir with its epicenter close to the city of Muzaffarabad. The destruction was widespread and truly devastating with Muzaffarabad suffering 70% of all 86,000+ casualties. The earthquake destroyed and damaged thousands of buildings, leaving 4 million people homeless and crippled infrastructure.
