A magnitude 7.3 earthquake hit the Iran-Iraq border affecting multiple cities and areas around the epicenter. Damage was extensive with at least 630 fatalities, 8,100+ injured and over 70,000 made homeless. Over 12,000 homes were destroyed and 15,000 more damaged.
