Haiti Earthquake 2010
The 2010 Haiti earthquake was a magnitude 7.0 earthquake, with an epicenter approximately 25km west of Port-au-Prince, Haiti's capital. .The two months following the earthquake saw at least 52 aftershocks measuring 4.5 or greater. Due to Haiti's minimal development and corruption within the government the initial impacts were devastating and these factors further hampered response efforts, worsening the Earthquakes impacts. This collectively resulted in over 100,000 deaths (disputed to be much higher) and damages totally as high as $8 billion.
