If you are looking to take the next step in your career, gaining Business Continuity Institute (BCI) certification is a great way to boost your credentials

 

The Course

The Good Practice Guideline course (£1,850 exc. vat) prepares professionals with the underpinning knowledge to pass the CBCI (Certificate of the Business Continuity Institute) exam. Covering all areas required, including the refreshment of knowledge on business continuity (BC) lifecycle and the development of BC templates and checklists. You’ll gain confidence and the skills required to pass your exam (please note exam requires adding during booking and is charged separately at £395 exc. vat, further details below). Gaining the CBCI can also lead on to becoming a member of the BCI.

Our expert trainers will lead you through discussions, tasks and case studies as they draw on their vast experience from across both public and private sectors.

The course takes an interactive style and involves tutor presentations, group discussions and exercises as well as individual tests supplied by the BCI that help confirm your understanding and prepare you for the exam.

This course will be delivered online using either our Connected Learning Suite (CLS) or Microsoft Teams.

 

The Exam

Recognised by organisations across the world, this stand-alone credential is a professional qualification for Business Continuity (BC) Practitioners and is certified by the Business Continuity Institute. Candidates can choose to sit the CBCI exam at any point in their career.

For those taking the exam, the multiple-choice assessment will test each candidate’s knowledge of the BCI’s Good Practice Guidelines, with a series of 120 multiple-choice questions that have to be completed within 2 hours.

Please note that the BCI is currently permitting online exams only: If you book the exam, you will be signed up on the course date selected below and then be contacted to schedule an exam at a time / date suitable to you by the BCI’s online examination provider. Upon completion of the online exam, candidates will immediately be provided with provisional results and then receive a verified result within 4 weeks. Please note the college does not receive information from the BCI regarding results.

Exam Price

The price of the exam is £395 exc. vat. The exam can be added alongside the course fee (£1,850 exc. vat) during checkout. However, if you would only like to sit the exam, without attending the course, please contact us at enquiries@emergencyplanningcollege.com to book your exam.

Resits

Delegates may resit the exam, so long as a minimum of 30 days have passed since their last attempt. A fee will be payable upon each resit.

Aim & Objectives

The Course

The course provides greater depth of knowledge on the 6 lifecycle areas of BC management and prepares the delegate to undertake the BCI exam. Both the course and exam are based on the BCI Good Practice Guidelines 2018.

Objectives:

  • By the end of the course the delegates will have the knowledge and skills to be able to successfully complete the BCI Exam and gain the Certificate of the BCI

 

The Exam

The CBCI is valid for 3 years, during which time an annual maintenance fee is payable to BCI. After 3 years it is necessary to resit the exam to maintain the CBCI status.

Candidates who successfully achieve the CBCI may apply to upgrade their membership to other grades such as AMBCI or MBCI if they can also demonstrate sufficient competencies and experience to support their theoretical knowledge.
