Here at the Emergency Planning College we are very proud this May to have delivered five days of Crowd Safety and Security Management training to the HM Government of Gibraltar.
Organised by their Civil Contingencies Minister, the Hon Gilbert Licudi QC MP, this significant training was attended by a wide array of individuals, from Gibraltar Emergency Services, Ministry of Culture, through to their Sports and Leisure Authority.
The training was run by our highly experienced Associate Dan Ward, who has been involved in over two hundred events during his career, including being a Crowd Safety Manager during the 2012 London Olympics and Paralympics.
Throughout the five days of training in Gibraltar, Dan covered management of risks within crowded places, crowd safety management plans and other essential emergency management topics.
This year, Gibraltar are host to a multitude of exciting events. The Natwest International Island Games XVIII, Gibraltar national day celebrations and the renowned ‘Gilbraltar Calling’ music festival will all take place in 2019, highlighting the ever-increasing importance of ensuring the strongest public safety capability possible.
