Overview

The famous line “If it’s not written down, it didn’t happen!” is never more true than for decision makers who are responding to an emergency or crisis situation, and accurate log keeping plays a critical role in emergency response and in recovery.

Logs are vital for evidencing decisions which were made during an incident, giving decision makers the ability to explain their rationale and provide a clear audit trail should their decisions be questioned after the event. Additionally, logs can be used throughout incident response and recovery activities to ensure that the most current information is instantly available to anyone who requires it.

Loggists work collaboratively with key decision makers and are responsible for ensuring information, decisions and rationale are recorded clearly and accurately.

Drawing on lessons learnt from a number of real-life events and inquiries, this course will train you to maintain a high-quality log during an emergency or recovery.
