Chris Bremner

Chris is an associate consultant and project manager for the EPC, specialising in complex exercise design and delivery and command and control training.

Chris brings a strong mix of practical experience in emergency planning, crisis management and operations with technical knowledge and skills, particularly with exercise design and delivery, test and validation activity and command and control. He has led multi-agency teams on operations internationally and domestically, including as senior commander in public order, emergency response and fire response situations.

He is an experienced trainer, both of individuals and teams and commanded the British Army’s Command and Staff Trainer in Germany, bringing a new digitised training facility into service and developing innovative training delivery methods for training senior leaders and their command and control support teams. He also has extensive experience training individuals and small teams in specialised training environments, including public order, reconnaissance, surveillance and security. He served as the principal intelligence and security advisor with 1 (UK) Armoured Division on operations in Iraq and the Middle East. Chris has led teams on operations in Northern Ireland, The Balkans, Iraq, Cambodia and on support to the UK Authorities. He commanded a multi-agency team providing fire cover for central Glasgow during the fire brigade strike in 2002 and has led rapid response teams in support of the civilian authorities during high-profile international visits.

Chris has served with the United Nations working on humanitarian and governance projects in Cambodia and the Far East. He is an experienced strategic planner and led a joint UK team that worked with US and European planning teams to develop international counter-terrorism strategy. He has also worked in the wider public sector, managing programmes delivering support to businesses and communities to enhance their resilience and sustainability, rural diversification and telecommunications infrastructure.

Chris has a BSc (Honours) in Agriculture, an MSc in Modelling and Simulation from Cranfield University and PGDip in Organic Farming. He has attended the UK Advanced Command and Staff Course and is a Project Management (PRINCE 2) Practitioner.
