Another successful delivery of 'Starting out in civil protection' training

09/02/2017

Last week the EPC completed a successful delivery of its flagship course 'Starting out in civil protection' at the Cumbria Fire and Rescue Service HQ.

SOCP.gifThe course welcomed delegates from 9 different partner organisations and provided delegates with an introduction to emergency management, focusing on legislation that supports Integrated Emergency Management and the structures designed for its delivery. The course also covered risk management, planning, communicating with the public and recovery issues to develop knowledge and understanding of the multi-agency approach to Integrated Emergency Management.

Hear from the delegates...

"A good course which has helped to clarify my understanding of working in a civil protection environment and has provided me with considerations of how I may improve my organisation's preparedness and response models."
Durham County Council

"A very comprehensive introduction, with good signposting to what is available regarding both supporting material (further reading) and further training."
Centrica

"Excellent pace and the content covered was detailed, but not overwhelming."
Carllisle City Council

"It was good to use video clips in the presentations which broke up the sessions and made a lot of the content being talked about more real and easier to relate.  There was the right balance with talking, PowerPoint,  videos, etc."
Cumbria County Council

"Enjoyed the week and learned some very important lessons to take back to my workplace."
Centrica
